Choose between a marathon, half marathon or a 12 km course and run through native forest and on groomed forestry trails with spectacular views of Canberra and surrounds. Over 400 metres of elevation gain on the 12km, 600 metres in the half marathon and 1400 metres over the marathon course.

The Course |
Starting and finishing at the Wamboin Community Hall, runners will head out and back along Bingley Way (sealed bitumen) for 1.3 km before entering Kowen Forest. The marathon, half marathon and 12 km course run on hilly groomed dirt forestry trails, with some short sections of single track. Marathon runners will enjoy an ascent of the formidable Mt Amungula, while the half marathon course take runners up Mt Doom. |

Mandatory Gear |
All participants must carry the following mandatory gear for safety reasons. Everyone will participate in a mandatory gear check on the day, before they can collect their race number:
If an entrant does not have any of these mandatory gear items unfortunately they will not be allowed to start the race for their own safety. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they have all the required gear at the event. |

Cancellation, refund, entry transfer, change of distance
Partial refund
Entrants who wish to cancel their registration due to illness/injury/family or work commitments may apply to receive a refund of the entry fee less an administration fee of $15 while entries are still open. Please email kowentrailrun@gmail.com and include your name, the event you have entered, and your registration number (emailed to you when you entered). No refunds will be given for applications after entries close.
Transfer of entry to a future Kowen Trail Run event
Sorry, we are unable to change your entry to a future Kowen Trail Run event. You will need to cancel your entry (as above) if you are unable to participate in the event.
Transfer of entry to another participant
Entrants can transfer their registration to another person online using the registration system, only while entries are still open. There is an administration fee of $10 for this online entry transfer and any entry fee transfers will need to be sorted between the two parties.
Changing your event distance
Changing to a shorter distance: Entrants can transfer their registration to a shorter distance online using the registration system, only while entries are still open. No refund will be given where the change is to a cheaper entry fee event.
Changing to a longer distance: Entrants can transfer their registration to a longer distance online using the registration system, only while entries are still open. Entrants will need to pay the difference in entry fees plus an administration fee of $10 for this online change of distance.
